My mummy is wonderful!

I babysat for her (which, oddly, involved Tetris on her cellphone) and she paid for my Livejournal account! *squeeees*
This, friends and countrypersons and aliens from afar, is definitely categorizable as gleee. I get all fifteen shiny pictures! Less angst over which icons to choose! I notice that a lot of them are dark backgrounds at the moment. Does this say something about me?! But they are also about half pretty and/or cute and/or cheerful subjects, too.
This, of course, means that not all the icons I posted the other day are up for grabs, but since I have gotten a total of one request for icon use, I doubt that will be a problem. (
mylittleredgirl and
elvenriver, however, made my day by both using the icons I made for them! Are you two conspiring behind my back, or is that just a universally appreciated avatar-making program?)
Went to see HP3 (Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban) tonight. Oddly, for such a title, it was less dark than The Chamber of Secrets. As you may or may not know, I'm not really a Harry Potter fan. Haven't really read the books, have concerns about its use of magic, tend to prefer LOTR (though, as we all know, they're not mutually exclusive fan-wise). But I've seen all the movies to-date, once each, and they're actually rather decent entertainment. I liked this latest one best. Maybe because it involved time-travel, and I'm a sucker for time-travel stories. But I also liked Remus Lupin, and thought it sucked that he left in the end. My friend tells me that he makes another appearance later in the series, so that's good. Peter Pettigrew was creepy. Rather liked Trelawney/Emma Thompson, and once again, Snape is Teh Sex. Odd, that, since I don't usually go for the dark gothic characters. But Alan Rickman is superb--fell in love with Colonel Brandon, hugged "Dr. Lazarus" in Galaxy Quest. Damn, but now I understand the Snape-lusters! Harry, Hermione, and Ron were great--good character development for Harry, some funny moments, and good close friendship. I liked the special effects...Sirius on train rocked especially. And snarky, ego-but-no-spine Draco was a nice change from fanon!Draco.
Well, must to bed. Opera (my lovely shiny browser with mouse "gestures") has this horrid habit of crashing in the middle of complex posts. At least this time I'd saved most of it in a copy-n-paste. Share my joy!

Date: 2004-06-22 12:12 pm (UTC)Also, about the browser, i tried Opera for a little while, it looked good and did lots of stuff, i just never really liked it all that much. I cant put my finger on why, i just never did.
Atm i use FireFox which i adore to bits. One of the good things is that the basic browser is really basic, but it lets you add "extensions" so that you can get it to act exactly how you want. There is one for mouse gestures, and lots of other too. It give you the links in the browser. But anyway, i really like it. Its adictive. The downside is that it means it take a while before you get the browser exactly how you want, but it means that when it is done, its perfect for what you want. You can skin it and stuff, so it looks like IE and it does Tabbed browsing as well.
