I have a lot of feelings, but I don't post regularly.

I post largely about fandom here, having been a giant nerd since long before I joined Dreamwidth. We've got your cheesy 80s time-travel movies, your classic fantasy epics, your goth space stations and your space mushroom trips, your alternate universes and your temporospatial claudications.

Perennial favourites include Star Trek, Babylon 5, Doctor Who, Lord of the Rings, CJ Cherryh's Foreigner and Alliance/Union series, Rosemary Kirstein's Steerswoman books, Martha Wells's Murderbot and Raksura series, and science fiction and fantasy generally. I'm more of a spaceship kid than a magic kid, but the genre as a whole has my heart. To infinity and beyond!

Fandom is largely interactive for me: I like to talk about my fannish loves, adore seeing other people's interpretations, and sometimes I'll even write fic or (much more rarely) create visual art or fancrafts for them. I comment more than I post.

Once in a while important things like where I'm living,1 what religion I hold,2 and where my sexuality3 and gender4 are at get into this blog, too. The webcomic xkcd once posted about how it sometimes seems life isn't real until it's been blogged about--sometimes I'm like that, and sometimes I don't post for months. But poke me and I'll say hi! I can be pretty chatty if you get me going. If you can't find me here, try my wife [personal profile] muccamukk, in whose blog I am frequently to be found commenting.

I'm also the artist formerly known as [livejournal.com profile] nenya_kanadka. As of spring 2017 I no longer keep an LJ (I'm on Dreamwidth and Tumblr instead), but it's still me. "Kanadka" means "female Canadian" in Russian. I was taking Russian 101 when I made my LJ back in the day, and I am indeed a Canadian among the many Nenyas out there. ;-)

Neither she/her nor they/them will offend. I'm also awfully fond of the zie/hir/hirs set of neopronouns, should you wish to go that direction.
