gay ladies in love
May. 11th, 2016 06:24 pmSo yesterday was our second anniversary. It doesn't seem like it's been that long! Then again we've been together since 2010 so we haven't yet been married as long as we were dating.
Anyway, we celebrated with pancakes (in the morning) and fancy booze (in the evening--I believe Mucca made a manhattan based on chocolate rye, which was just as swanky as it sounds). I gave her this adorable card and she gave me this necklace, though she actually got me the necklace in town so I've been wearing it for a couple of weeks already. :D (It's pretty amazing, and manages to combine romance, my fannish history, and a reference to my first try at college, all in one piece, which I figure is pretty great.)
There will be fancy cake for Mucca's birthday later in the week, but we are waiting on the grocery tender, which has not yet arrived. (Tomorrow perhaps?) Today I have poked at my accounting homework, and am procrastinating on fest fic, during which time I looked at cute pictures of boys in lipstick and then fell down a rabbit hole into a couple of fannish queer criticism essays. Which, well, I spent the whole time going "Fuck your 'sites of transgression against heteronormativity', give me some actual women in love!" (Even though, sure, I can buy fanon bisexual Howard Stark, or ship Sam/Steve or Peggy/Angie, or whatever. I just don't think some of this stuff is as revolutionary as the essay writer did.)
Anyway. Lifes goes on. I should probably make a whole post squeeing about how I got Mass Effect 3 to work (AT LAST) and how much I'm enjoying that. (A fandom which, as a matter of fact, does have canon f/f in this installment and hot boys to perv over. And fireballs to throw. It's pretty great.)
