Day 7
In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts. Drop a link to your wish-list in this post. Maybe someone will grant a wish. Maybe you will grant a wish. If any wishes are granted, we'd love it if you link them to this post.Ooh, presents!
1) Babylon 5 fanfic,
Stephen Franklin/Marcus Cole. I think I've found precisely two pieces of fic for this pairing, which is a shame because they are lovely and snarky together, and both very pretty, and they were even fake!married on the show. :D
(What I've read so far:
Limbs and Outward Flourishes and
Five Things Marcus And Stephen Did On Their Honeymoon(s))
Stephen Franklin/
Cailyn James would also make me happy. Or just Franklin himself. But I'd love some Stephen/Marcus!
2) Any fanfic for CJ Cherryh's
Foreigner universe, especially with Banichi in it.
I kind of want the slash AU where it's
Bren/Banichi instead of Bren/Jago. Which I am probably not going to get, because Bren/Jago is pretty awesome (I ship it) and the juggernaut canon ship. And also the fandom is so small and most of the people I know in it have friended the author on Facebook, so it'd be kind of awkward. But I do
want Bren/Banichi. And Tano/Algini, as a matter of fact.
3) Fic, or for that matter fanart or fanvids, for
River Song/Sarah Jane Smith. They are both awesome; they are both more interesting to me than the Doctor; there's no reason at all why River couldn't have dropped in on Sarah Jane's life in between the times she hung out with Eleven. A journalist and an archaeologist with a gun fetish: I want them travelling time and space, causing and averting chaos, saving the day, flirting, and generally getting to be competent and sexy.
(What I've read: a really fun "five times they met" story, or something along those lines, which I'd bookmarked on my other laptop, which has now died taking its bookmarks with it.)
Day 8
In your own space, talk about a talent (or talents) you have. Everyone's got something they're good at. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.I'm pretty good at puzzles, I think. Word puzzles and number puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. Not necessarily three-dimensional puzzles, but that may be from lack of practice as much as lack of aptitude. I enjoy Scrabble and Sudoku and algebra.
When I was a kid, I used to say that the reason I did well in school was because I had a good memory. That might have been oversimplifying things: I have an excellent memory for things I am interested in (like fandom--I can tell you at length all about the plots and minor characters of my favourite shows or books) but will sometimes forget everyday things that I've promised to do, like write that email or take that book back to the library or pay that one bill.
I approach a lot of tasks at various jobs I've held as if they were puzzles. If I'm looking for a client file, or if I find an item that I think my coworker's been looking for all week, it's like Memory. If I move these boxes
here, I can fit all the new incoming things
there and it will work: just like Tetris!
