It is pretty cool! In my case (as a not-actual-lightkeeper, just a spouse who's somewhat out of the loop because not-keeper and also deaf) it tends to be long stretches of quiet and entertaining-myself interspersed with moments of excitement. :P But there are a lot of good people who come through for various reasons (park rangers, search & rescue, coast-guard related) and it's gorgeous country and sometimes you get to do absolutely fantastic things (I'm still stuck on GIANT HELICOPTER a week later! :P) that everyone treats as pretty normal because it's part of the life. I'm really glad I've had a chance to be a part of it.
