I've been thinking of you all week! It was either you or Bast who used to have a countdown on your profile page to Bush's last day, waaaaay back in the dark ages around '03 or so, when it all seemed fucking hopeless. Now we're down to mere HOURS. I may choke up again. :D

Patrick Nielsen Hayden keeps saying "FORMER PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH" over and over on the blog. LOL. THIS IS HOW I FEEL.

I mean, it's like, I can't quite absorb Obama, or maybe I squeed all my Obama squee since November, but right now all I can think is Bush isn't the president any more.

It is--all of my twenties!--and I've developed most of my political awareness (particularly of the US) in that time. This is something altogether new, and I think I've realized why at the moment I'm fixated on Bush is gone: because I've wanted that since before I knew who Barack Obama was.

That said, "US President Barack Obama" has a kind of neat ring to it, don't it? XD

(Off to nap now. Being carted off this evening to party with Rosie--who's doing her first drag show tonight!--and hardly slept last night from sheer excitement. A nap would be useful. :D)
