nenya_kanadka: Wonder Woman poster (kneeling with sword) (SW Chewie we're home)
Fandom stocking was fun this year!

At my stocking I got Delenn icons, Supergirl icons, Goblin Emperor icons (of Maia <3), Doctor Who icons and Michelle Gomez icons.

Plus lots of greetings, some links to original SFF femslash, a promise of femShep/Jack fic, an Eighth Doctor picspam, and recs for the TV show Green Wing (which is apparently the UK answer to Scrubs, and features Michelle Gomez as an entertainingly awful hospital staff liaison, Tamsin Greig as the new doctor on the block, and a bunch of very pretty people being, again, entertaining dicks).

And also some awesome ficlets:

Of Kindness and Mazei (Goblin Emperor: Cala, Dazhis gen) by [personal profile] sevenall
Doctor Who (Three/Brig + Jo offscreen) by [personal profile] sharpest_asp
Sufficiently Advanced Orbs (Steerswoman: Willam & surprise crossover) by [personal profile] schneefink

Also I wrote things!

Title: Translator Zeiat, In The Winter, With A Snowman for [personal profile] esteliel
Fandom/Characters: Imperial Radch | Translator Zeiat, Breq, Kalr Five
Rating/Word Count: G, 871 words
Summary: Fluff and crack, cultural differences, the Presger are the warning. Translator Zeiat tries to build a snowman.

Title: Ghosts for [personal profile] sevenall
Fandom/Pairing: The Goblin Emperor | Cala Athmaza/Deret Beshelar, past Cala/Dazhis
Rating/Word Count: G, pre-slash, 1220 words
Summary: A sleepless night after Dazhis's revethvoran. What is Beshelar to do for the spiritual care of a maza?

Also for [personal profile] akamine_chan's commentfest remix challenge, I got a lovely remix of my Babylon 5 Jeff/Michael "Valen returns" story that I wrote for Fandom Stocking a couple of years ago:

Title: Jeff Sinclair in the 24½th Century (The Five Faces of Valen Remix) by [personal profile] muccamukk
Remix of: Me and Thee
Fandom/Pairing/Characters: Babylon 5 | Jeff Sinclair/Michael Garibaldi, Delenn, Susan Ivanova, Lt. Matheson (Crusade)
Rating/Word Count: G, exactly 1000 words
Summary: Jeffrey Sinclair finds his way in a future that's not as familiar as it should be, but full of old friends just the same. [Also, a terrible pun or two.]

And now I want cookies. I should make cookies.

I got a thing! :D

Anonymous Creator has remixed one of my favourite of my own fics, Where The Stars Are Strange (the one about Catherine Sakai getting thrown back through time to the first Shadow War). And it is AMAZING.

See, the thing about Where The Stars Are Strange is that I had this lovely plotbunny in my head that would properly have taken a novel to explore, but I ended up with ~2.5k of spartan prose instead because I didn't have time to write the thing rightly before the deadline, and also felt that if I didn't get something, anything, down, I'd get so tangled up in the details that I'd never post it at all. So I ended up glossing over a lot of important things to get the general gist of the story down.

And here comes my remix author, taking one of my biggest plot holes (the language drift between Valen's time and Catherine's) and turning it into a beautiful story about culture shock and transition and love and loss. Plus fantastic use of telepathy and a really satisfying take on one of the necessary OCs for the story. It's one of those times where I read something and wish I'd written it myself, but I'm happy someone else did so I can just sit back and read it. :D Anonymous Creator, whoever you are, thank you so much.

Title: Finding the Words (the stranger in a strange land remix) by [archiveofourown.org profile] Beatrice_Otter
Remix of: Where The Stars Are Strange by [archiveofourown.org profile] nenya_kanadka
Fandom: Babylon 5
Pairing/Characters: Catherine Sakai, Catherine Sakai/Jeff Sinclair
Rating: Teen
Word Count: 4200
Summary: To fight with the Minbari, you have to speak their language.

Eeee. :D

A bit late, but finally getting to some recs from [livejournal.com profile] rarepairfest. There are a lot more in other fandoms that I haven't gotten to yet, but here's two fantastic stories from the Babylon 5 fandom!

Title: A Kind Word and a Two-by-Four
Author: [archiveofourown.org profile] Azar
Pairing/Characters: Stephen Franklin/Marcus Cole, Susan Ivanova, various Minbari
Rating/Word Count: 8700 words, PG
Summary: A Ranger is trained to "truly see and to see things as they truly are in all situations." When Marcus finds himself unexpectedly alive after he meant to sacrifice himself, it forces him to realize how little he's applied that principle when it comes to his own heart.
Notes: Marcus, man. This story captures his impulsiveness and sometimes-oblivious idealism really well, and lets him do some self-examination too. And poor Stephen, quietly in love and trying to help Marcus through his melodrama without giving anything away. The longest fic I've ever read for this pairing, and worth every single word.

Title: dans le meilleur des mondes
Author: [personal profile] muccamukk
Pairing/Characters: Susan Ivanova/Delenn, Jeffrey Sinclair
Rating/Word Count: 7600 words, PG
Summary: Susan Ivanova long ago learned that she couldn't have everything she wanted. That's why she is a project manager, not a Starfury pilot, and that's definitely why she can't seem to get away from the last Minbari she ever wanted to see again.
Notes: The one where Delenn's marriage to a human was a political arrangement...to a young Susan Ivanova, who thinks 80% of what Delenn is up to is bullshit. A really deftly drawn AU, with Jeff--and the station itself--as a great supporting character. I want more.

Title: Where The Stars Are Strange at AO3
Author: [livejournal.com profile] nenya_kanadka for [livejournal.com profile] babylon5_love
Fandom: Babylon 5
Pairing: Jeffrey Sinclair/Catherine Sakai, Valen/Catherine Sakai
Rating: PG
Word Count: 2348
Summary: At the other end of the universe, Catherine makes her way. Spoilers for War Without End and for the novel To Dream In The City Of Sorrows. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] alexcat for the beta! All remaining errors are my own.

The flash of black fire from the Shadow vessel masks the stomach-dropping lurch as the rip in spacetime grabs her. )

Some very excellent things these last few weeks.

Title: For you are with me
Author: [archiveofourown.org profile] Lizardbeth
Fandom: Babylon 5
Characters: Alisa Beldon, Jeffrey Sinclair
Rating/Length: G, 5700 words
Summary:
On Minbar telepaths are trained to serve, but for trainee Alisa Beldon her closeness with Jeff Sinclair sets her path.
Utterly gorgeous mentor/protégé story with Jeffrey Sinclair and Alisa Beldon on Minbar during the events of To Dream In The City of Sorrows (so, season 2/3). Makes me want to cling to Jeff and go "Come baaaack!" which admittedly is my default setting for him. Also makes me want all the grownup!Alisa fic.

Title: rocket queens
Author: [personal profile] openended
Fandom: Babylon 5 (Pacific Rim fusion AU)
Pairing: Susan/Talia, 3400 words
Rating: G
Summary:
Telepaths rose the same year as the kaiju, and the Pan Pacific Defense Corps provided a convenient way to keep both away from the general population.
In which Susan and Talia get their happy ending, in a universe where punching Godzilla with giant robots is a valid life choice. Susan still manages to toss an telepath out a window.

nenya_kanadka: Wonder Woman poster (kneeling with sword) (Susan/Delenn hug)
Title: A Place To Stand | chapter index
Author: [personal profile] nenya_kanadka
Fandom: Babylon 5
Pairing/Characters: Delenn/Susan Ivanova, Delenn/Lennier, past John Sheridan/Delenn and John/Delenn/Lennier
Rating: up to Explicit
Word Count: 22,435 (!! :D)
Summary:
Post-Sleeping In Light, post-John/Delenn/Lennier. In continuity with Three Times Is A Beginning.

Two years after John's death, Susan Ivanova has settled into her new role on Minbar, but is getting mixed signals from President Delenn. Delenn finds herself drawn more and more to her old friend (and new Anla'shok Na), and Lennier must find his footing in the family in the absence of his once-rival, as Susan grows closer to them both.

***

Also known somewhat inaccurately to non-fandom friends as the "God, the alien, and their boyfriend" fic. :-) Many, many thanks to [personal profile] hearts_blood, my beta and prime cheerleader on this thing. And to Muccamukk, who put up with me nattering on about Lennier for a year and a half. :P

It's done! The fic I've been working on since spring 2012 is finally finished, woohoo! Still needs a bit of editing/beta-reading for the last chapter, but HURRAY! Will post link when it goes up to AO3. (Susan/Delenn, Delenn/Lennier, post-SIL fic thing, about 22,000 words which counts as longfic for me!)

The other two of my three entries for Porn Battle XIV (Fiery Fourteen):

Title: If I Sang Out Of Tune
Fandom: Babylon 5
Pairing: Vir Cotto/Lennier/Na'Toth
Rating: PG
Word Count: 484
Summary: The best aides in the galaxy, afterward. (Coda to Yuletide 2012's The Subtle Arrangement of Stones by Nemo_the_Everbeing.)
Prompt: inconceivable

Title: Gloves
Fandom: Babylon 5
Pairing: Susan Ivanova/Talia Winters
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: 1048
Summary: Talia has one last use for the gloves.
Prompts: gloves, lipstick, tease, trust, spanking, hedonism

Ed. note: I think the Susan/Talia is not my best work, as I was rushing to meet the deadline and I don't usually write that pairing; apparently it's still Relevant to a few people's Interests. The Vir/Lennier/Na'Toth, though, for all the crackiness of the concept, is one of my favourite pieces I've written. :)

nenya_kanadka: Wonder Woman poster (kneeling with sword) (Stephen/Marcus)
First entry for this spring's Porn Battle XIV!

Title: Would You Prefer Ferrets?*
Fandom: Babylon 5
Pairing: Stephen Franklin/Marcus Cole
Rating: NC-17/Explicit
Word Count: 1,884
Summary: "I know what you need. A distraction." Stephen, Marcus, and a sleepless night. Prompts: blowjob, boxes, frustration, fingers, confined, handcuffs, pike, virginity.

This may be the first explicit Stephen/Marcus slash in existence. I know it is at AO3... (No actual handcuffs.)

_____
*Marcus Cole to Susan Ivanova: Did I mention my nose is on fire, and that I have 15 wild badgers living in my trousers? [beat] I'm sorry, would you prefer ferrets?
